So today is packing day!
I’m quite the workaholic and so yesterday at work, the buzz didn’t hit me till about lunchtime that quite an epic adventure is ahead of me and a bunch of great friends.
I’m sure people have their own ways of jotting down their packing lists and on past travels I’ve scribbled a few notes which I still refer to, though this time I’ve written a comprehensive table on Google Sheets with a preparation section, then followed by clothing, stuff for the road, hygiene plus (last but not least) tech and gadgets.
Indeed it’s the tech and gadgets that need more thought than anything else I’ve found, the last thing you need is to be missing a USB cable, or a charger, a battery or some other small item we take for granted in daily use.
Reminds me of Journey 14 where I only noticed after a break in Balingup that I had forgotten to switch the go-pro door to the weatherproof one! Meanwhile it was mounted on the car’s bonnet and bound to be collecting fine red dust, so the quick solution was a piece of duct tape across the back – surprisingly effective! No big drama but a good reminder of how detailed a packing list should be.
Anyway today is a long day of packing, printing song lyrics ahead of Kukułeczka‘s performances at PolArt 2015 in Melbourne, lots of water and snacks, all sorts of other essentials and get the car packed.
Tomorrow we depart!
