Well I wrote a detailed post earlier but the phone had lost all the text. Plus yesterday’s technical issues with charging anything thanks to the EU mains adaptor I took from home being the wrong pin-spacing…AAARGH!
Never mind, sorted that out with some morning errands and aimless powerwalking around Amsterdam then it was off to the shuttle bus to Spaanwoude, the lovely grounds where Awakenings Festival is being held for the 17th year. A great day out with aircraft approaching overhead every 30 seconds but thanks to the quality AV & stage setups, you wouldn’t have noticed unless looking to the skies. Highlights included Noir, Joseph Capriati and Adam Beyer of course, though Hot Since 82, Villallobos and many more impressed, especially when Richard’s little daughters got up onto the decks and MC’d, the crowd erupted with cheers and applause which the kids absolutely loved the reaction from the fun crowd.
It was a long walk and bus ride back into Centraal but we made it home safe plus with a blister on my little toe. Rest & recovery for round two!
